What to Bring on the Side Dolphin Boat
A small bag is enough. Here is what goes in it, what the fare already takes care of, and what can stay in the hotel room.
Short answer
For the Side dolphin boat trip, bring your swimsuit, a towel, sunglasses and high-factor sun cream, plus some euros in cash if you want drinks from the bar or the optional photos. Lunch and the transfer are in the fare, so you need no money for those. Wear light clothes and shoes that slip off easily.
The short list
- Swimsuit — easiest worn under your clothes from the hotel, as there are three swim stops.
- Towel — your own; bring a beach towel from the hotel if it lends them.
- Sun cream — high factor, enough to put on again after each swim.
- Sunglasses — the light off the water is bright from morning to afternoon.
- Euros in cash — for the bar, the drinks package or the photos, if you want any of them. The fare itself is also paid in euros on the day.
Clothes and shoes
There is no dress code. Swimwear on board, something light to put over it for lunch or the ride home, and shoes you can take off and put on without bending over twice. A hat is a sensible addition for anyone who burns easily.
Children need the same list, sized down: their own swimsuit, a towel, sun cream and something to cover their shoulders. With a baby, bring shade and sun protection for them; the children's guide has more.
What the fare already covers
You do not need to pack food: the BBQ lunch on deck is in the price. You do not need to arrange a taxi: the round trip from your hotel is included too. And full-day travel insurance comes with the fare. The prices page lists everything the fare includes.
What to leave at the hotel
This is our advice, not a rule from the boat. A day of three swims and a foam party is hard on anything that dislikes water. Anything that should not get wet or go missing is safer in the room: jewellery, a good watch, more cash than you need and documents you do not need that day. A phone is worth bringing for photos and for our pickup message; keep it in a small waterproof pouch or a sealed bag, away from the foam.
Anything else you need
If your plans for the day depend on something particular — medication, mobility, a special diet — tell us before you book through the contact page, so we can check with the operator. Otherwise, pack the short list, book your date, and wait for the pickup message the evening before.
