Lunch and Drinks on the Side Dolphin Boat
One meal is in the fare; every drink is not. What is on the plate, what the bar sells, and where the drinks package fits.
Short answer
Lunch on the Side dolphin boat trip is included: a BBQ meal served on deck, with grilled chicken, rice or pasta, a fresh salad and bread. Drinks are not included — a bar on board sells cold soft drinks and alcohol, and an optional all-inclusive drinks package is offered on the boat. Bring euros in cash for either.
The BBQ lunch
Lunch is a freshly grilled BBQ, served on deck after the first swim at the river mouth and before the crossing to Dolphin Island. On the plate: chicken from the BBQ, with rice or pasta, a fresh salad and bread. It is part of the fare for every guest, children included.
In the order of the day the meal sits between the river-mouth swim and the island, a natural pause in the middle. If a very young child eats something particular, bring it, and ask us before the day about anything the record does not cover.
We list only what the operator's record lists. If you are vegetarian, have an allergy or follow a diet, ask us before you book and we check with the operator rather than guess.
The bar on board
Drinks are the one thing you buy during the day. The bar on board is well stocked, with cold soft drinks and alcohol, and you pay for each drink there. Lunch is served without a drink, so plan on buying one to go with it.
We do not publish bar prices: the operator has not given us any, and a figure we invented would be wrong by the time you read it. Bring some euros in cash.
The all-inclusive drinks package
Instead of paying drink by drink, you can take the all-inclusive drinks package offered on the boat. It is optional and paid apart from the fare. Its price and exactly what it covers are not on our record, so ask on board and decide there; nobody has to take it, and the day is the same either way. The what costs extra page lists it beside the other optional items.
Sensible habits for a day on the water
- Drink water through the day; three swims and the sun dry you out faster than you expect.
- If you drink alcohol, go easy before the swims.
- Children's drinks are bought at the bar like everyone else's.
- Keep a little cash apart for the bar so the money for the fare stays in one piece.
This is our own advice to guests, not a rule set by the operator.
