Is the Side Dolphin Boat Trip Safe? What the Record Says
We answer this one strictly from the operator's record. Where the record stops, we stop, and point you to the person who can answer.
Short answer
The operator's record states a fully insured boat, a licensed captain, a certified crew and certified equipment, and full-day travel insurance is included in every fare, with professional guiding on board. If anyone in your party has limited mobility, is pregnant or has a health concern, tell us before you book: the operator decides whether the day suits them, and we pass that decision on.
What is on record
- The boat is fully insured.
- The captain is licensed.
- The crew and the equipment are certified.
- Full-day travel insurance comes with every fare, adult and child.
- There is professional guiding on board for the whole day.
That is the complete list. We do not add equipment, procedures or crew numbers that the record does not name.
About the travel insurance
Travel insurance for the full day is part of what you pay for, listed with the other inclusions on what is included. We do not hold the policy wording on this site, so please do not read more into it than that one line. If your own insurer or a medical condition means you need the details, ask us before booking and we request them from the operator.
Tell us before you book
Some questions only the operator can answer, and they need to be asked before anyone has paid or planned around the day. Write to us through the contact page or on WhatsApp if anyone in your party:
uses a wheelchair or has limited mobility — accessibility varies, so we check before confirming; is pregnant; has a heart, breathing or other health condition; or worries about seasickness.
We are not doctors, and nothing here is medical advice. Whether the trip is suitable is the operator's call, and for a health question your own doctor is the right person to ask. On seasickness, the honest answer is narrow: the first stretch is on the calm river, and nobody can promise what the open sea will be like on your date. The crew runs the stops to suit the weather and the water.
Your part of the day
- Swimming is optional at all three stops. Go in only if you are comfortable, and listen to the guidance given on board at each anchor.
- If you need a swimming aid, ask us first: none is on the operator's record, so we promise none.
- Children travel with an adult from their own party, who keeps an eye on them in and out of the water.
- The bar sells alcohol. Our advice: keep the drinks for after your last swim.
- Sun is the risk everyone underestimates. High-factor sun cream, sunglasses and something to cover up belong in the bag — see what to bring.
